B.A.P to embark on their Asia showcase tour in July

The rising rookie, B.A.P, is gradually preparing for their first Asia showcase tour. The group successfully concluded their encore fan signing event on June 10th at the iPark shopping mall in Yongsan, Seoul. Their agency, TS Entertainment, revealed, “Beginning in July, B.A.P will kick off their Asia showcase tour for the first time since debut five months ago.”
Together with Girls’ Generation, SHINee, and U-KISS, B.A.P is scheduled to stand on the ‘Dream Stage’ taking place in Macao at the Cotai Arena on July 2nd. Following Macao, the group will be heading to Malaysia, Thailand, and Taiwan for their solo showcase. The showcase in Malaysia and Thailand is scheduled to take place on July 6th and 8th, respectively, and a showcase in Taiwan has been confirmed for September 22. Back in January, B.A.P completed a successful debut showcase at the Jangchung Gymnasium in Seoul with over 3,000 fans in attendance. The group then headed for Singapore for a joint fan meeting with labelmate Secret in March, causing fans worldwide to become more eager to catch a glimpse of the members. Although B.A.P has only released two single albums, the group has a list of over 10 songs prepared for the showcase including Bang Yong Guk‘s solo track and “Never Give Up” from the sub-unit project group, BANG & ZELO. “B.A.P has continuously been receiving numerous love calls ever since their debut from not only in Asia, but also from North America, South America, and in Europe,” the representative continued. “However, for the remaining of the year, we will be focusing on introducing B.A.P in Korea and in areas throughout Asia.”

B.A.P enter the top 10 of the Billboard’s World Albums

B.A.P entered the top ten of the Billboard’s World Albums with their new album. It’s the second time after their debut album entering the top 10 of the chart. According to the latest chart of the Billboard (dated May 12) on May 4, B.A.P’s second single album Power ranked tenth on World Albums of the Billboard.
B.A.P also entered the top ten of the Billboard’s World Albums with their debut album Warrior, released in January this year. It’s significantly meaningful because B.A.P achieved it without officially releasing the album in the U.S. The Billboard Chart rank the songs based on the information provided by Nielsen SoundScan, which counts the sales volumes of all albums and sound sources in the U.S. B.A.P’s Power ranked first and second on iTunes Store Top 10 Hip-hop Albums in Canada and the U.S., respectively, beating Jay-Z and Kanye West.

[INTERVIEW] B.A.P @ April Edition of Elle Girl Magazine

The boys who came into the studio past the scheduled time, bowed at a 90 degree angle and continuously said, “I’m sorry”. Even though it’s due to their schedule, I felt sympathetical because of their innocent faces that looked into each and everyone’s eyes as if they were sincere and said, “It’s okay”. Even before the photoshoot started, the studio was filled with staff members that go over the amount of 20 people and the boys quietly and calmy walked through them. After changing into the clothes that were picked out, they sat in front of the mirror and while their hair and face were being done, they were quiet the whole time unlike most ‘idols’. But as soon as the photoshoot began, their expressions and looks in their eyes were uncommon. The editor wasn’t the only one surprised.

A surprised feeling mixed with fascination filled my head. At the interview that started once I could see the date was changing, they put their shy expressions and continued on with candid words that fit boys of their age. As it became time for them to part, the 6 blonde boys gave a sign of relief by saying, “We did it well”. They looked at each other and laughed out loud. With the last phrase of, “Let’s take a commemoration picture”, we all laughed together.

EG: B.A.P means best, absolute, perfection. Whose idea was this?

A: Truthfully, it was given to us by the company. (Yongguk) Although it’s a bit exaggerated, but I think it was created with the meaning for us to do well. (Youngjae)

EG: When you all first appeared, the hot topic was that all 6 members had dyed their hair blonde.

A: Honestly, when we first heard the suggestion of the blonde concept, they all told us separately so each person thought they were the only ones getting their hair dyed blonde. (Yongguk) That’s right. Me too. But it turns out that it wasn’t that like that. Haha. (Himchan)

EG: If you could explain your debut album’s concept in one word, what would it be?

A: I think all 6 of us think that being masculine is cool. When we make music or prepare for performances, we put an effort in trying to show a lot of our masculine side rather than a bright and soft side. (Yongguk)

EG: It’s now a bit over a month since you debuted. EAch and every day must be a new challenge.

A: Yes. Because we just started, there are many things we want to do and every situation we are met with are things we need to learn from. (Daehyun) I feel like I’m having a new experience every day. (Himchan) As I go through each and every schedule, there are really many things I learn. I felt a lot of things during the photoshoot today as well. (Youngjae)

EG: All the members looked very used to the photoshoot setting and it didn’t seem like you guys only debuted for one month.

A: We practiced photoshoots a lot prior to our debut. Although today’s concept was a bit different, the clothes, hair, and make-up were all really cool so I think I was able to do the photoshoot with confidence. (Jongup)

EG: At the debut showcase that took place near the end of January, I heard that 3000 fans came.

A: Before our showcase, there was never a chance to perform in front of that many people and since we didn’t have a lot of experience on stage, I remember being really nervous. Will the seats be completely filled. I started being worried before anything—-. At first, I appeared on stage like a silhoutte but the audience, which was pitch black as the lights were off, was completely filled with light sticks. I was relieved. I also gained confidence at that moment. (Daehyun)

EG: When did you decide to debut in the entertainment industry? Or when you got a sworn hunch that you would become a celebrity one day.

A: I officially started dancing after joining a dance club in middle school. Once I begn to do club activities, I went out in competitions and as performance experience built up, I wanted to become a singer. (Jongup) I liked music ever since I was young, but as I entered high school, I think I made a decision to go through with it properly. (Daehyun) Ever since I was in my 3rd year of elementary school, I liked imitating choreographies and raps. While I was on stage during a school festival, I started going to an academy by being introduced to it through someone I knew. And I also made a decision to debut. (Zelo) I normally liked standing on stage. I also liked singing. While going through my two years of training, my dream grew bigger. (Youngjae) Truthfull speaking, I did Korean traditional music ever since I was younger. And during that time, I started liking African-American music, but whenever I was casted on the streets when I was younger, I would immediately say I wouldn’t do it. However, I suddenly thought, ‘Let’s experience various things and have fun living because it’s a life you only live once with’. That’s how I was also able to go through with my trainee life. (Himchan) I promoted underground. I promoted as a rapper ever since I was in middle school, but the hyungs around me had a strong will in making hip-hop into a popular genre. They tried making it in the major music scene a lot too. Whenever I saw something like that, I wanted to do hip-hop in front of more people. I also had hopes in helping with hip-hop become popular. (Yongguk)

EG: If you were in middle school, that’s still when you were young. How did you become an underground rapper?

A: Because I normally liked African-American music and hip-hop music, I listened to it often and after constantly listening to it, I wanted to make my own. So I posted something I made onto a community site and it became quite a hot topic at that time. Through that opportunity, musician hyungs who were in an underground label, contacted me and we started promoting together. (Yongguk)

EG: If you had to pick someone who caused you to get the dream of standing on stage, who would it be?

A: For me, I started liking it once I did it and once I started putting an effort in it, I received support from my family and friends and that’s how I think I made a sworn deicion that ‘I need to go down this road’. (Daehyun) Because I promoted ever since I was young, my family and people from school were really against it. But the only people who supported me was my grandmother and grandfather. So I’m the happiest knowing that I can show them my side of doing music now. (Yongguk)

EG: A couple day ago, you showed your follow up song of ‘Secret Love’ on a live music program. It has a completely different feel than ‘Warrior’. Wasn’t it awkward to suddenly change?

A: It was awkward because we had to prepare and show a different emotion in just a couple of days. But the fans already saw a performance of ‘Secret Love’ on stage during our debut showcase. We also showed a bit of it during a music broadcast stage. So that’s why I don’t think fans felt that different with it. (Youngjae) When we were monitoring each other, we teased each other by saying, ‘We have to be sad while singing it, so why are you putting so much force in your eyes’. (Himchan)

EG: What is the biggest difference from B.A.P with other idol boy groups these days?

A: We are manly. Haha. When you look at the dances that many male idol groups dance, there are a lot of moves where their lines stand out. So there are times where they look prettier when dancing in a group, but in contrast to that, we wanted to express a powerful side more rather than give enjoyment to the eyes. That’s why I think we look more different. And our music style and fashion as well. (Yongguk)

EG: When it’s just the members, what’s the topic that you talk about? How is living with a dorm lifestyle?

A: We all sleep in one room together and use bunk beds. When finish schedules or practice and come back in the middle of the night, it’s loud for around 30 minutes and then as each member goes in to shower, it becomes quiet and everyone falls asleep as if nothing happened. (Youngjae) We thought that we would look unmannerly if we played around with each other like we do at the dorms, so we promised each other not to be like that outside. We make sure our posture is straight and have self-control over our words. (Laughter) (Yongguk)

EG: Besides dancing or singing, do you guys overlap in hobbies?

A: The members have a lot of interest in clothes. (Daehyun) Yes, we all have a lot of interest in fashion. We help each other out sometimes with styling as well. (Himchan) Himchan hyung and Zelo especially give a hard time to the styling team. (Laughter) (Youngjae) Ah, lately Jongup has been making time at night before sleeping and reads books. (Daehyun) I have only been able to read around 2 pages! (Jongup) The title is—-. (Daehyun) ‘Things That Would’ve Been Good to Know at 20 Years Old’. (Jongup) that’s right. When I’m about to sleep, he has a small light on and is reading a book. Keukeu. (Zelo)

EG: Although the members are all probably friendly with each other, I think there would be competition that isn’t shown when you split up parts, dance, sing, or practice.

A: Something like that is always there. Whether it be dancing, singing, or rapping, we get stimulated by each other while practicing. Although all 6 of us don’t show it, we all work harder while looking at each other. (Yongguk)

EG: Is there something you have been putting an effort in more specifically after debuting?

A: Because I like singing, I put a lot of weight towards singing even after debuting. However, my interest in dancing grew more lately. After debuting, singers that could show dancing and singing at the same time looked cooler as well—-. And as I watched vidoes of those singers, I started becoming greedy. (Youngjae) If we had to pick a member out of the 6 of us who was the farthest with fashion, it would be me. But as we started promoting together, I started gaining an interest in clothes and I began to like it. (Daehyun) I put a lot of effort in studying performance styles and gestures shown on stage that I didn’t know about when I was a trainee. I watch clips for it as well. And I study it when monitoring our stages also. (Himchan) When practicing our choreography, I practice basic things like expressions or stares. (Yongguk)

EG: My own charm that none of the other members have?

A: Baby perm! (Zelo) Ah, you mean that amongst the 7 of us, you look the best with a baby perm, right? (Laughter) (Yongguk) Dimples—- Heuheu (Zelo) Maybe it’s because I started doing b-boy dances ever since I was younger, but my shoulders—-. (Jongup) That’s right. This kid has muscles and his body is good. (Daehyun) Yeah, I’ll acknowledge it! (Laughter) (Yongguk) I can pleasantly eat everything. (Daehyun) Can I say Himchan hyung’s charms for him? Himchan hyung livens up parts, that don’t have much importance, really well. I think the fierce look in his eyes are really charming. (Daehyun) This is what you call being acknowledged, haha. (Himchan) Then for me—- I’ll go with my heavy and manly voice. (Yongguk)

EG: What kind of songs do you enjoy lately? Is there a performance you recently went to that stayed in your memory?

A: I listen to Tyga’s ‘Far Away’ often. (Zelo) I like Anthony Hamilton. The one I most remember is the performance Musiq Soulchild did in Korea. News about the performance came up on an African-American music side, but I was burdened because the tickets were expensive and it was prior to our debut. But they were doing an event through Twitter. They said if you post a review for the album that came out at that time, they would pick 3 people and give out tickets. So I put a lot of effort in writing it before I slept, but I was picked for it and I told my company and went threre very proudly. (Laughter) (Yongguk) When Boys II Men came to Korea last year, 4Men seniors performed together with them. It was touching. (Zelo)

EG: You gained many fans as soon as you debut, right? What do you feel when you see your fans?

A: Even though school started again, many people came to our music broadcasts and cheered us on. (Daehyun) Even though they have to wait for a long time before seeing us for a really short amount of time, they really cheered us on well so I was thankful. (Yongguk) Yesterday, I felt that our fans were really kind. A fanletter came to Yonggukkie and- (Himchan) Yes, in the fanletter, there was something like, ‘It’s okay if we watch from far away so please say at least one warm thing towards your Japanese fans who came from far away’. (Yongguk) I think they’re really kind. (Himchan) Even when it rains, they wait for us while eating cup ramyun—-. (Daehyun)

EG: You’re probably tired from a lot of change, but I think your willpower would stronger than ever. Is there something you’re really greedy for lately?

A: I’m worried about the new album and I have greed for it too. Because many people liked our first album, there’s more of a burden. We were preparing it a bit while promoting, but it bothers me a lot. I keep wanting to do a bit better. I’m in charge of the musical part right now, but the other members have a lot of interest in it too. (Yongguk)

EG: If you have your own idol, who is it? It’s okay if it’s not a celebrity.

A: My grandfather. He is only person in my life that I wanted to learn something from and model myself after. (Yongguk) I have this vocal teacher. He spent a really long time with me and shared many things, taught many things—- He’s really a special person. (Daehyun) I think I have one too. Will.i.am from the Black Eyed Peas. No matter what kind of song he brings out, he’s a musician that makes me always anticipate it. (Zelo)

EG: What’s the biggest dream that B.A.P wants to make come true?

A: Alright, let’s have the youngest, Zelo, answer the last question. (Yongguk) To end it, don’t get excited and answer it calmly. (Himchan) Ah, because it hasn’t been long since we debuted—- We are aiming towards the newcomer award this year. (Zelo) No, the biggest dream! (Yongguk) Ah, our biggest dream is to conquer the world—-. (Zelo) Hahaha. (Everyone) Well, it might sound a bit absurd, but it’s with the thought to spread B.A.P around widely. Heuheu. (Zelo) We have a big aspiriation to become a worldwide group! (Himchan) Because that phrase sounds too stereotypical, we say ‘conquering the world’ as a fun way to say it. Fighting! (Youngjae) ♥

[INTERVIEW] Hallyu Pier w/ B.A.P - Another Story Part 2

”All 6 members like Japan. It was the country that all of us voted as 1st in wanting to visit. I’ve had a personal case where I’ve gone once before,” is what Yongguk had said. They were then asked “Where do you want to go or what do you want to do in Japan?”
Zelo: “I want to go shopping.”
Daehyun: “I want to eat ramen.”
Himchan: “I want to go shopping too.”
Jongup: “I want to go to Harajuku or Shinjuku. I want to also by items that are designs only found in Japan.”
Yongguk: “Everyone’s really interested in Japanese fashion. Also, there’s a big CD shop there, right? I want to go shopping there.”
Youngjae could not be asked because he was in the middle of the photo shoot.

Q4. If you could change bodies with any other member, who would it be?
Himchan: Zelo. Because he’s cute ㅋㅋㅋ I tend to do a lot of skinship and I would always be affectionate to Zelo….but Zelo doesn’t like it, so I want to know why..I want to confirm why. I want to see the image of myself through Zelo’s eyes.

Q5. The member to cause trouble in the dorm?
Himchan: Is it…me? No..not dirtying the dorm. I just don’t clean.ㅋㅋ It’s because I cook, but I don’t clean after my mess. I make another person clean it up, like to the dongsengs, “Clean it up for me.” ….ㅋ

Q6. How long was your trainee years? And any difficulties?
Himchan: For me, around 1.5 years. It was difficult not being able to see my parents in having to dorm. But we all pledged that “We won’t see our parents” until debut, so I worked hard.

Q7. What kind of artist do you want to be? An award you’re aiming for?
Himchan: Hrm…I want to be an artist that “paves their way.” Instead of choosing to be something, I want to be the kind of artist that makes their own way. If this were a puzzle, then we’ve only fir 1 piece of the puzzle. And when we’ve matched them all, I want to promote in becoming an awesome picture. I really think that way.

Q6. If you could change bodies with any other member, who would it be?
Jongup: Zelo because he’s tall. I want to try the air that’s high up where he is.

Q7. The member to cause trouble in the dorm?
Jongup: (Looking at the members) Me. There are a lot of members who like being tidy and I don’t organize correctly, so I receive some criticism. Since we’re living in a dorm together, we have to be clean!

Q8. What kind of artist do you want to be? An award you’re aiming for?
Jongup: I want to try even more new things and right now, although it hasn’t been long since we’ve promoted as B.A.P, I always want to be a member that can take part in the choreography or the production of a song.

Q6. If you could change bodies with any other member, who would it be?
Youngjae: Zelo. He’s a kid with a lot of talent and everyone is affectionate towards him, so I want to abuse that privilege.ㅋㅋ I think it’s be fun to live as the magnae.

Q7. The member to cause trouble in the dorm?
Youngjae: (Glancing at the members for a moment…then coolly, he says) There’s no one in particular that strikes as “This person!”

Q8. What kind of artist do you want to be? An award you’re aiming for?
Youngjae: This is my dream..but I want to show people through a song that I wrote the melody of in topping it with the words I’ve wanted to say.

Q9. Do you want to try anything in particular when it comes to solo promotions?
Youngjae: I want to try singing a song alone and also doing collaborations and featuring in a song to sing with other artists.

Q6. If you could change bodies with any other member, who would it be?
Daehyun: Himchan hyung. He’s cool and good looking, so he’s popular with females. I want to be able to embrace all the popularity of females. (But Daehyun, you’re also referred to as the “Wonbin of Busan,” no?) Ah~Ah~Yes~ㅋㅋ

Q7. The member to cause trouble in the dorm?
Daehyun: The two members in the magnae line. I always wake up earliest and these two (Jongup and Zelo) really don’t wake up!! I wish they’d wake up a bit earlier.

Q8. What kind of artist do you want to be? An award you’re aiming for?
Daehyun: I want to become an artist they can’t forget for a long, long time. For example, even if we don’t promote for a while, I want to become an artist that people still say “That person is an awesome artist” about. I want to become an artist that has people listening to their music.

Q6. The artist you first started liking?
Zelo: I didn’t really have much thought when I first started rapping as I’d say things like, “So cool~ I want to make money and return the favor to my parents~” when seeing idols. It was just up to there. Right now, artists I like are Eminem and Kanye West.

Q7. If you could change bodies with any other member, who would it be?
Zelo: Yongguk hyung. I compose lyrics too, but Yongguk hyung composes lyrics and produces, so I want to experience what Yongguk hyung produces. I want to participate in music making.

Q8. The member to cause trouble in the dorm?
Zelo: (Looking at the members briefly…) I like them all. There’s no one especially that causes trouble. I just wish they’d organize their “laundry.”

Q9. What kind of artist do you want to be? An award you’re aiming for?
Zelo: I want to become the best artist in all areas. Not only in producing, but ranging from composing to fashion even, I want to be a multiplayer in being able to do everything. Right now, I’m not in a hurry though as I want to slowly raise my talents which I find important.

Q7. If you could change bodies with any other member, who would it be?
Yongguk: Hrm…Youngjae. I had a long time being a trainee and I’ve had experience in being the youngest, but I’ve never been the middle child as I’m the oldest out of B.A.P. That’s why I want to be Youngjae. I want to know the stress, sufferings, and worries of being in between hyungs and dongsengs.

Q8. The member to cause trouble in the dorm?
Yongguk: Himchan. He’s too orderly. With his extremely orderly personality, the other members tend to receive stress from it, so I wish he’d just have some ease and live roughly a little.

Q9. What kind of artist do you want to be? An award you’re aiming for?
Yongguk: I want to rap about the story of a human being. Before, I used to like gangster rap (example of artists are ICE-T, 2pac, 50 Cent, etc. who’d have provocative and attacking lyrics) but lately, I’m not sure if it’s because I’ve become an adult, but I want to rap that holds humanistic values. Although B.A.P is an idol, I want to surpass the stereotypes of being an idol and make something full of messages. In order to do that, I’ll study harder and become an artist that can lead their dongsengs. For the future, I hope B.A.P can be a group that can make any kind of music.

[INTERVIEW] Hallyu Pier w/ B.A.P - Another Story Part 1

When asked, “A Japanese term you know or a phrase you like in Japanese?”
Himchan: “Okite kudasai (Wake up).” I sleep often during Japanese lessons…ㅋㅋAlso, “Aitai (I miss you).”
Zelo: “Hajimemashite douzo yoroshiku (Nice to meet you for the first time. Hope you’ll treat me well).”
Daehyun: “Oishii (Delicious).”
Jongup: “Peko peko. Onaka ga peko peko (Hungry. I’m hungry).”
Youngjae: “Gohan (Rice).”
Yongguk: “Konbini ikimasho! (Going to the local store!).” It’s because we only have small stores nearby our dorm.ㅋㅋ

Q3. How did you become a singer?
Himchan: I used to really like music since I was younger and I was originally studying traditional Korean music to major in it, but I also had interest in varieties and other genres so through being introduced to someone who worked in the industry, it was the beginning to starting up my path towards this career choice. In traditional Korean music, I played the drums. I’ve also collaborated with a Japanese shamisen artist as the school I attended was affiliated with a Japanese art academy. I’m still a student, but I’m currently taking a break.

Q4. Your flaw?
Himchan: You can see it right in my face and that’s being honest. Although I do think that I want to remain as an honest person, I just wish at times I can maintain a poker face. There are times where my emotions show exactly on my face.

Q5. What would be your role if B.A.P was a family?
Himchan: (Thinkin, says in Japanese) Ah……nuna? (Huhk, is it nuna?) Ah, mom! I cook the best (In Korean). Because my mom is a chef, I can make anything, ranging from jjigae (stew) to fried rice, any basic foods. I’m a very family-oriented man.

Q3. How did you become a singer?
Jongup: I started dancing as a hobby when I was in my 1st year in middle school and I liked dancing, so I started off with a comfortable feeling but in that time, I ended up going on a big competition. At the time, in standing on stage, I was able to feel the charms of the stage and that’s how I chose this path. Right now, I’m going to an arts high school and I’ve been a trainee in the company for 1.5 years.

Q4. What would be your role if B.A.P was a family?
Jongup: I would be the 2nd youngest son. Going according to the age ranking ㅋㅋ

Q5. What did you think when other members were having personal promotions prior to debut?
Jongup: I was in awe and glad in seeing Zelo promote despite him being just a child. My mood was lifted and my anticipation grew in being able to start B.A.P with such a member.

Q3. How did you become a singer?
Youngjae: There was a talent show on a school trip and at the time, the cheering of my peers was great when I sang on stage. That was how it all began. In order to make that dream on the stage become my job, I thought, “Let’s become a singer.” I raised my dreams of becoming a singer by starting up in studying music and I continued to fall for the charms of music and began to love it truly, raising my passions and eventually becoming a member of B.A.P. At first, I was preparing as a trainee for about a year under a different company but the debut didn’t seem to be nearing any time soon and I was introduced to our current company. It took roughly about a year to debut under the current company and there wasn’t much difficulty in my trainee days during this time. Aside from that, I was more pressured at the thought of being equipped with the precise talent or having apt personality which made me think, “I have to take responsibility.”

Q4. Your weaknesses and flaws?
Youngjae: Weaknesses? Hrm…weaknesses…I don’t have. (Oh~~! Everyone clap!) Flaw is…being slightly shy.

Q5. What would be your role if B.A.P was a family?
Youngjae: Himchan hyung said that he thought he was the mom, but…I’m the mom. Himchan hyung is the cute and bright magnae. ㅋㅋ Yongguk hyung is the dad, I’m the mom, Daehyun is the eldest son as Jongup and Zelo are the youngest. Himchan is a child who doesn’t have a complete grasp of things and doesn’t have exact judgment. ㅋㅋ I watch over them all.

Q3. How did you become a singer?
Daehyun: I was watching TV when I was younger and I really wanted to become a singer. When declaring our majors for the appropriate high school, I thought, “I want to work my goal in becoming a singer” so I applied for applied music. Even after that, I went to a music academy and took up an audition for B.A.P and was qualified, leading me to become a member. I was practicing in the academy and I once entering the company, 6 months prior to our debut, I was the last member to join. That’s why up until debut, there was no time as I had a lot to do and I just tried my best. There wasn’t any time to be distressed or feel tired.

Q4. What would be your role if B.A.P was a family?
Daehyun: I’d be the eldest son, Himchan hyung as the mom, Yongguk hyung as the dad, and although by age, I’m the eldest son but by the aura presented, I’m more of the middle son? (Youngjae said that he was the mom….ㅋㅋ) No, never. Of course, Youngjae has subtle, feministic features to him surely…….but he’s not the mom.ㅋㅋ

Q5. What did you think when other members were having personal promotions prior to debut?
Daehyun: I didn’t get jealous.ㅋㅋ They were promoting as a prelude to this team and I was cheering hard for them. If I were to do my solo promotions, I want to do a duet with a female vocal. I used to practice doing duets often at the academy I attended and I know the fun from it, so I want to try it out.

Q3. How did you become a singer?
Zelo: I was a kid who enjoyed coming home to play after school ended and when I came home, I’d either beatbox or dance in front of my mom’s dressing table mirror. One day, I found out there was a filming for a cable TV program nearby our house and my friend was apparently going to appear on it so I begged him by saying, “I’ll give you my gaming card so please let me appear too.” It was a secret from my mom though. I tossed my backpack when school ended and left the house without a word, but…..my mom wore sunglasses as she secretly followed me out, finding out to see her son dancing and rapping on stage..ㅋㅋSince then I raised my dreams of becoming a singer. I rapped and did beatboxing since 5th grade and I also started dancing officially then. I made my debut under the company in a year. (I saw your Youtube video of when you were in elementary school~) Ah~ ㅋㅋ That was when I was still young, so I had a lot of baby fat on my cheeks..ㅋㅋ

Q4. What is your advantage and disadvantage?
Zelo: Advantage is being young, but being able to do various things as I can even play an instrument. Disadvantage is severely sleep talking….. (Everyone’s been talking about it.ㅋㅋ Are you ever aware of it?) Yes…I am aware of it.

Q5. What would be your role if B.A.P was a family?
Zelo: Just a cute magnae.ㅋㅋ A magnae who’s loved the hyungs.

Q3. How did you become a singer?
Yongguk: Going back to middle school, I was doing hip hop underground and as I became an adult, I was introduced by seniors of our company, Untouchable hyungs, to the company and I ended up joining. Since then, I was preparing for B.A.P and had the opportunity to do solo promotions then. I prepared for B.A.P for roughly a year but personally, I’ve prepared for debut for about 6 years.

Q4. Your advantages and disadvantages?
Yongguk: I think my advantage is having more experience in music than the other members, but the disadvantage is that I’m lacking in cuteness that the dongsengs hold…ㅋ (That’s not true. You’re cute!) Arigato gozaimasu (thank you) ㅋㅋ

Q5. What would be your role if B.A.P was a family?
Yongguk: I am the role of the “F. A. T. H. E. R.” ㅋㅋㅋ Among the members, I’m the oldest and I tend to be the one giving the dongsengs advice or talking to them about respect because I’m in the position to tell them things as well as teach them things, so that’s why I’m the father.

Q6. What is B.A.P’s charm that only they hold?
Yongguk: We’re a group with diverse charms, from cute to masculine, all the members hold the two. Is us being all blond a charm too?ㅋㅋ All the individual members of B.A.P having strong characters of their own is B.A.P’s charm.
