Rookie group 20star to debut in August

As if 13 members in a band weren’t enough, it seems like we now have a new band with approximately 17 members!

Under TGN Entertainment, a new boy band will emerge with the name 20star. With 17 or so members (the numbers have been wavering from source to source), we know that this will be the biggest idol group in Korean pop to date! The members include A-Run, who has been dubbed the leader of this band, as well as Xeno, Ricky, Dongkyu, Daeyoung, Luie, Dowon, Jaeyoon, Seungtae, Hongmin (Min), Ryan, Shinsong, Shiho, Sangmin, and Hwan. The year of birth for the listed members range from 1989 to 1994, with A-Run being the oldest and Xeno the youngest.

Although only 15 members have been named, there are supposedly more members that will be added to this band. In addition, it has been reported that a member by the name of Noh Taepoong has already withdrawn from the group.

Though there is not yet much known about this rookie group, it has been rumored that they will debut sometime in August.

T-ara members share their first impressions

The girls of T-ara shared their honest first impressions of each other on KBS Entertainment Relay. While on the Guerilla Date corner, five of the girls (excluding Soyeon) sat down for an interview at the amusement park.

Eunjung said, “I saw Jiyeon for the first time when I was in the third year of middle school and I think she was really pretty. I thought Hyomin was a scary unnie.”

Boram shared, “I had a good first impression of Jiyeon but then a few seconds later, she greeted me coldly so my impression changed.”

Jiyeon then said, “I thought Boram was in elementary school because she was so small and cute.”

Qri said, “Hyomin would talk to me but Eunjung would sit away and not say anything.”

Hyomin added, “Jiyeon seemed like an innocent maknae but now she seems like the oldest. I thought Qri was a foreigner. I thought I would have to use English but now I know she is a pure Korean. She can not speak English.”

Jiyeon joked, “Hyomin was a lot prettier when I saw her for the first time.”

This is all kind of hilarious!

T-ara introduces 7th member & crowns Boram as new leader

And it looks like those big changes regarding T-ara was the addition of a brand new member, Ryu Hwa Young!

The 17 year old high school girl will join popular idol group T-ara, now consisting of 7 members, for their future activities and become the new official maknae! With a height of 168cm, her cute looks, and adorable face, who wouldn’t want to see more of her?

Ahead of T-ara’s upcoming schedule which includes releasing a new second album, Core Contents Media stated, “The existing six members of T-ara will help newcomer Ryu Hwa Young. T-ara will return with a stronger image.”

Official representative held an emergency meeting on the 9th where they discussed the changes that T-ara will be undergoing, one option being dividing the group up. In the end it was decided that a new member, Ryu Hwa Young, will join the group, while Boram will become the official leader, with Eunjung stepping down.
That’s not all if you thought that was it.

Ryu Hwa Young actually has a twin sister called, Ryu Hyo Young who will join the co-ed group of which Jin Hye Won is part of, and debut in September. The profiles of the other members in the co-ed group will be released shortly.

If you’re not familiar with Ryu Hyo Young, she was the one who showered Nichkhun with her aegyo on Star King right in front of Victoria back in May. Hyo Young was then talent scouted to join T-ara but after consideration, they felt that her sister, Hwa Young would be a better fit. So they switched it around.

This big announcement was originally planned to be released on the 23rd, however it was changed at the last minute on the 16th due to intense media speculation.

Core Contents Media promised big changes. They really did it.

4minute’s Gayoon talks about her nickname

4minute’s Gayoon explained her nickname Kangnam Woman on Star Golden Bell.

On the episode that aired on the 24th, she said, “I had no idea but online, my family’s house price kept going up and up. A lot of people have misunderstood this situation.”

Kangnam is a rich part of Korea and I’m guessing the house was in Kangnam. Therefore, people were just referring her as a rich girl.

She continued, “After I got this nickname, people were writing mean things and saying that I should try harder on stage no matter how rich I was. I do try hard.”

Another factor that got her this nickname was when she mentioned unfamiliar brands on interviews and turned down dduk-bok-i (spicy rice cake that is cheap) on a show. She was mistaken for being a rich snob at that point.

When the MC asked whether or not her family does have a lot of money she joked, “We have enough to eat and live.”

What a lucky girl, rich and talented!
