Find out what K-pop girl groups eat on their diet!

Recently, diet for each girl group has been revealed.

In the episode of KBS 2’s Entertainment News that aired on March 17, the segment “Entertainment Report Now” aired an analysis focused on stars’ diet.

The rookie group Stellar (composed of Ga Young, Jeon Yul, Minhee, Hyoeun) reveals their well-prepared lunch box filled with low-calorie food such as cherry tomatoes, eggs, and chicken breast. Among the food, a squid draws particular attention, and the group shares diet know-how: for a good diet, eat only the body of squid, not the legs.

Brave Girls (composed of Eun Young, Seo Ah, Yejin, Yoojin, Hyeran), the group which is busy performing “Nowadays You,” come up with an orange and reveal that orange is the main food for their diet. The model-dol (compound of “model” and “idol”) Nine Muses (Sera, Leesem, Eunji, Euaerin, Minha, Hyemi, Hyuna, Kyungri) shows their particular way of dieting, using a paper cup. They fill two thirds of the cup with some steamed rice and the rest with side dishes made of vegetable.

The main diet dishes for the Korea’s leading girl group SNSD (members of Yuri, Yoona, Taeyeon, Hyoyeon, Tiffany, Seohyun, Jessica, Sooyoung) are brown rice, broccoli, chicken breast, and salad. Secret (HyoSeong, Seon Hwa, Ji Eun, Jing Geo), on the other hand, eats banana, sweet potato, milk, and tofu.

Another attracting point of the episode was when actress Cho Eun Suk unveils the secret of her well-defined abs, the boiled short arm octopus.

Nine Muses will not be modifying their “News” dance any further

Group Nine Muses‘ choreography for their new song “News” has been heavily criticized for being too provocative.

The girls returned on Mnet M! Countdown and debuted their new song on January 12th. They had strong stage presence as they put on a successful comeback performance, showcasing the sexy waves and fierce hip movements that are the highlights of the entire dance.

But after the program aired, the public felt that the dance was highly inappropriate. Especially towards the beginning, where the male dancers caress the girls’ legs.

Nine Muses’ agency remarked that the girls would have to promote the song once the dance was modified and more fit to air on television.

However, they’ve followed up on their initial comment saying, “Because we have already modified a portion of the dance, there will be no need to change the choreography any further. However, the girls will be putting on slightly different performances for each stage they stand on.”

The girls will continue to promote their new song “News”, which incorporates strong beats of both rock and pop.

Nine Muses’ sexy choreography for ‘News’ receives criticism

Girl group Nine Muses‘ new dance is being criticized for being “too sexy.”

The members of Nine Muses unveiled their new song “News” for the very first time on January 12th and performed it live for the first time on Mnet M! Countdown. The choreography to “News” is extremely fierce and powerful; the girls utilize their entire bodies in the dance, and the moves include hip thrusts and sexy body waves that are the highlights of the entire performance. In order to perfect each of these moves, the girls practiced nonstop each day from 10 in the morning until 10 in the evening.

But even after all of their hard work, their dance was deemed to be “too sexy” and some of the most important moves are unfit to air on TV.

The problematic moves that will be unable to air on TV include a part of the dance where the girls hold hands with male dancers that lie on the ground and thrust their hips, as well as the ‘sexy performance’ with the male dancers during the rap portion of the song.

Nine Muses’ agency reported, “Nine Muses’ “News” dance was criticized as being too provocative and we inevitably have to change the choreography. The girls will be promoting with the new dance once it is modified.”

Netizens who heard the news voiced their own opinions saying, “Girl group dances are too much these days“, “This doesn’t seem too bad“, and more.

Nine Muses’ Hyuna debuts successfully as its newest member

On October 14th, Nine Muses returned to the music scene with their follow-up track, “Ladies.” Although it was Hyuna’s first performance, her impressive dance abilities stimulated viewer interest. After the broadcast, her name quickly appeared on mulitple portal site search rankings.

Nine Muses’ management, Star Empire, stated,

Netizens who watched their follow-up performance said, “It seems that they practiced a lot. I like the live, song, concept, all of it.” and “The feeling was like an upgrade of their debut stage. I wish they would be active for a long time and continue to show themselves in a positive light.”

Nine Muses Reveal Their Pre-Debut Hardships

Like for many other idol hopefuls, the future of actually debuting is an unsure and at times, an unpromising one. Rookie idol girl group, Nine Muses recently opened up about the hardships they had to go through until debut.
Star Empire began to form a group of nine girls in 2006-2007. In 2009, it seemed like a good time to finally debut the girls, but after one of the members left, the company decided to put a hold on their debut until August 2010. “To be honest, we were very frustrated at first because we had debuted much later than we had expected and also because of the constant member change,” said one of the members through a recent interview.

Starting off with many idol-hopefuls, only three of the girls from the original lineup remain. “Everyone in this group prepared to become a singer after they turned into an adult. The thought of giving up our old lives to start new ones was very scary to us,” a member said. Because the life of a trainee is very risky, many of them quit their training when the wait becomes too long. “We were very worried about being able to survive as singers. But we never gave up on our dream to be singers and endured it all to this day. In the end, we’re now able to have an album with our names on it.”

After training for such a long period of time the girls almost can’t believe they’ve actually debuted. “To be honest, everyday we are touched. Just like we endured everything before our debut, we will work just as hard while promoting as singers. Please keep a close eye on us.”

While the girls have just debuted a week ago, netizens have already taken notice of the nine girls for their incredible height and great bodies. Their first title track, No Playboy is slowly going up the charts as the girls promote on music shows.

Member Hye-Mi says. "I didn't think much. For the first time, I didn't know what to do. Being at the broadcast was very strange and that made us even more nervous. It was a shame I couldn't do better." She told us truthfully.

Erin used scores for the first stages quality. "I wanted to give it 20 points. After the first stage, the members could not say a word. 'More than 2 years of training to only get this result.' This seemed to upset the members." She said.

Of course, Lee Sam also spoke her mind, "The publics opinion after such a long time was upsetting. We lack a lot but from now on we will try and do harder. The Nine Muses you see now will be more advanced in the future." She told us her ambition.

Wang Biho compares Nine Muses to SNSD

Next up on Wang Biho’s hitlist: Nine Muses.

On the 15th, Wang Biho stated, “Who’s Nine Muses? Oh LPG,” on KBS‘ Gag Concert.

He had left the girls speechless with that statement.

He continued, “I did a background check on Nine Muses. There are 9 members but I feel like I’ve seen them somewhere. Aren’t they the knockoffs of the Chinese version of SNSD? The knockoff SNSD who copied the Chinese-version of SNSD who copied SNSD.”

Now if the part about being a knockoff of a knockoff wasn’t enough, he again continued, “I heard that Park Jin Young gave you your debut song, but do you think he gave you all a good song? He probably gave you the leftover after giving all the good ones to his company artists.”

However, this was all just for good laughs and no offense was taken, because we all know that if Wang Biho talks about you then you have become somewhat famous.

miss A
1. 7/12/2010
2. Jia, Min, Suzy and Fei
3. 20.75-years-old
4. 163.75cm (5′3″)
5. 45.75kg (100 lbs)
6. Bad Girl Good Girl
7. Facial expressions are unlike a rookie group’s
8. They will follow in the Wonder Girls’ footsteps. On stage, they’re bad girls but off stage, they are shy good girls. Also, they all have amazing fresh faces.

SISTAR started the girl group trend this year. They did a collaboration with Jang Geun Suk called Magic Drag for Samsung Yepp and made their “cat dance” popular. Then came miss A, comprised of two Chinese members and two Korean members, they won various music shows just weeks after debuting. Girl’s Day followed shortly, though their YouTube videos fully shows off their talents, they have been going through a hard time showing this talent off on stage. However, they’ve been steadily building a fanbase by going on variety shows. Nine Muses debuted just earlier this week and grabbed people’s attention because they’re basically all supermodels. Their long legs have been taking up the stages this week and making guys drool.

So, why so many of them?

It looks like girl groups don’t seem to have as high of a failure rate as boy groups or solo singers. These new girl groups have already been gaining so much attention. The reason why you can rely on girl groups to bring in the income is because there’s always teenage boys and ahjusshi (old men) fans to trust. They can also go perform at various events which always require a pay day. Supposedly, Secret gets paid around $8000 per event performance while a group like 4minute gets paid around $12,000 per event.

They also get love calls from all kinds of variety shows and many of the girl group members move on to even bigger things such as dramas. Fans also download their albums online, another way they make money. One professional in the field of the music industry said, “You can rely on girl groups for a stable and steady income. Many people want to invest in them so girl groups will keep coming out for now. They don’t have the best response when they debut but if they get a good song, they can get big any moment. Girl groups are taking over music, ads, events, variety shows and acting. From the supply and demand perspective, the girl groups will keep coming.”

The person continued, “There is more than one person so there might be a lot of pressure to succeed. When one member gets famous or a sub-unit becomes popular, the company can still benefit off of the group. Even if a member leaves the group, the company can still use the group to do whatever they want.”

But why girl groups over boy ones? That is because most people who aspire to be singers are girls. At SM, JYP, Cube, YG and other companies, they all currently have 20-40 trainees. Out of those trainees, at least half or more are girls. So all this begs the quest, who’s the hottest rookie girl group from the list?

People are paying more attention to bashing Nine Muses than congratulating BoA winning #1 after 5 years!

You just can't believe that Nine Muses is the number 2 trending topic WORLDWIDE? well you gotta believe it!

It even beat topics such as SS3 and SHINeebankifer. But actually, the reason why Nine Muses are talked about so much is because of people bashing them seriously hard all over the world!

It seems that people are paying more attention bashing Nine Muses rather than celebrating or congratulating BoA who has won Number 1 on Music Bank after 5 years and even rather than getting excited or so on Super Junior's first concert today in Seoul for their Super Show 3!

I guess it's unavoidable for people to bash an idol group but to this extent? Nine Muses are making a very rough start, but what's more interesting to see is that there are people who would rather take their time and say bad things to Nine Muses than be happy or congratulate BoA and Super Junior for their own respective events.

Random comments about Nine Muses on twitter are:

"Why do people act like it's either Nine Muses or Soshi? They're two different groups. You can like both, one or neither, it doesn't matter."
" People are annoying me with all the SNSD & Nine Muses comparing. Don't fans have better things to do then bicker about this?"
"Nine Muses are models gone wrong. Please. Go and practice more. Then, you can come in front of our face."
"SNSD versus NINE MUSES"
"No offence but Nine Muses kinda suckish. They cant sing live. Why do they even debut? Is it just bcos they have a pair of long legs? xD"

Isn't it funny how this is all going?
