Shinhwa, who’s currently preparing for their 14th anniversary with a 10th album comeback, has been chosen as the #1 role model by their fellow junior idol groups!

On March 5th, the group held a press conference that alerted their fans of their official return and expressed their gratitude on being chosen as a role model by so many idols. Previously, hit groups like Super Junior, Big Bang, 2PM, and TEEN TOP had named Shinhwa as a group they look up to, while SNSD‘s YoonA even stated, “Just like the longest lasting idol group, Shinhwa, I hope that our members will be together as we mature from girls into ajummas.”

Shinhwa expressed, “We’re so very thankful. We’re often told that it’s rare for a group to stay together for 14 years without any member changes in not only Korea, but the rest of the world. We’re going to work hard so that we can continue in Shinhwa’s image and repay the support everyone has given.”

[NEWS] Which seven secrets do idols use to get through the airport?

At the airport, where idol stars are leaving the country, Girls' Generation's fans arrive at the scene. Once the doors open, who is the first star visible? Without fail, today, just as any other day, it's Sooyoung and Seohyun.

So why is it always Sooyoung and Seohyun who lead the group at the airport?

It's easy to gloss over this without noticing anything, but in actuality there are rules and secrets to these idols' airport visits.

Whether they are leaving the country or entering it, Sooyoung and Seohyun invariably take on the role of leading the group. This is because they are the two who are often praised for their airport fashion; on the other hand, Tiffany and Taeyeon constitute the last two. They usually have no make-up on.

There are also idols who find it a bother to go to the airport. In this case, as if afraid to show even a strand of hair, they use their managers as a screen. JYJ's Kim Jaejoong sticks closely behind his manager as he crosses the airport at dawn. Big Bang's G-Dragon too, plays hide-and-seek with his fans as he stays by his manager's side. 4minute's Hyuna makes use of her manager to hide her bare legs.

Is there anyone who likes showing off their fatigued faces? For idol stars whose careers are driven by their fandoms, taking care of their bare faces is a very real necessity. This is where masks come in. Sunglasses help in hiding their dark circles, and hoodies in obscuring their greasy or messy hair.

If you are a singer, an idol, at the airport going on a plane...headphones or earphones are an absolute necessity. They let you listen to music, up your style, block out the noise, and help with your boredom. Of the two, headphones are the weapon of choice in perfecting the singer image.

There is a Korean saying that goes, "In any situation, eating comes first." For idols who barely have time to eat because of their schedules, it becomes important for them to grab a bite to eat to avoid traveling on an empty stomach. T-ara's Hyomin satisfies her hunger with an orange, while 4minute's Gayoon and Secret's Sunhwa and Hyosung hold onto their iced Americanos.

Airport fashion is a trend right now, with many brands getting exposure through stars at the airport. The airport has essentially become the center of fashion promotion. This effect is particularly visible when stars wear clothes from the brand they model for. DBSK's Changmin carries a cardigan from Lacoste while 2NE1 actively promotes the brand they endorse.

There are times when idols feel embarrassed to face the flashes of the cameras. The most common method employed in this case is the mobile phone. They hold their phones firmly to their ears and stride out the exit as fast as possible.

The phone serves yet another purpose as well. Girls' Generation's Jessica uses it to obscure her right profile, which she is not confident of. Of course, it gives them the chance to catch up with their family and friends too.

What you think of the current airport fashion trend?

Big Bang's Taeyang and 2NE1's Minzy become trainers for a day

Big Bang's Taeyang and 2NE1's Minzy will become trainers for a day, as they step up to help contestants on an episode of SBS's "Survival Audition - K-POP Star," which will be broadcasted on February 12th.

It was reported that the energy at the scene was extremely high because of the two stars. Their training style involved personally guiding each participant, thus showing off a very proactive image.

Taeyang first encouraged the contestants by giving them advice and demonstrations on dancing, singing, and stage manners. The production team was reportedly taken by surprise when he gave everyone personal lessons.

Minzy was also very generous with her advice, telling contestants with a lack of confidence in their singing, "I couldn't sing well before too."

The production team stated, "It was a lot of help for the contestants to receive lessons and support from Taeyang and Minzy, who were both extremely animated."

Big Bang to film new MV in New York + Daesung solo album later this year

It was revealed earlier today that boy group Big Bang is set to go to New York soon for the shooting of their new music video. Even though YG has been careful with spending money from his company, they will be making the group's comeback MV a grand-scaled production.

After their Korean concerts in March, and their comeback with a new mini-album, the group is also set to have a world tour. They'll be visiting Asian countries through the first half of the year, while Europe, North America and South America will be visited in the second half of 2012. For these concerts, YG will be working together with well-known company Live Nation.

Yang Hyunsuk also mentioned that he views Big Bang as six teams. While they have the full group as a whole, all five members can stand on their own. They focus when they're working on solo releases, but they're a team when they tour and promote together. Talking about the solo releases, it was revealed that the first one to release a solo album later this year would be Daesung. "We plan to start solos with Daesung. I want all the scars he got last year to be washed away soon."

Will you be anticipating Big Bang's new MV as well as Daesung's solo release?

Dal Shabet’s Subin tried to play it cool the first time she met Big Bang

On the February 7th episode of SBS‘s ‘Strong Heart‘, Dal Shabet member Subin shared a story about the first time she met idol group Big Bang.

Subin who was previously an extra in Taeyang‘s “I Need A Girl” MV played the role of a seductive female.

The Dal Shabet member remarked that she was on set of the MV shoot waiting for filming to begin, when she saw a bright light from one side of the room.

“There was this bright light on one side of the set, so I looked over and lo and behold, Big Bang’s Taeyang was over there,” she said. “I kicked myself for not trying harder that morning.”

And at the the second shoot that took place the same day, Subin was once again mesmerized.

“I was filming a scene where I had to seduce a man at the casino table, when I saw another bright light,” she said. “It was bigger and brighter than the one I saw earlier. When I looked in that direction, I saw G-Dragon sporting a large pair of shades,” she continued.

But despite being extremely starstruck, Subin decided to play it cool. She admits that although her heart felt like it was going to burst out of excitement, she remarked, “I was also an established model, so I pretended to be unfazed and greeted them as confidently as I could,” which caused the entire ‘Strong Heart’ set to explode into laughs.

Did Subin look nervous in the MV?
